Reinventing car sharing between people who know each other
Sharing at the heart of our initiative
Co-oto, launched in 2023 in French-speaking Switzerland by Deniz Ates and Celtia Concha, is the result of an initiative by two committed individuals driven by the desire to promote sharing and community spirit.
Convinced of the need to pool resources and the absurdity of considering cars as strictly individual goods when they could be shared, we set ourselves the mission to rethink vehicle use by promoting genuine car sharing between individuals.
This approach, from both an ecological and common-sense perspective, is about optimizing car usage.
Sharing is not renting
Faced with a situation where for-profit companies often misuse the term "car sharing" to describe what is actually a system of peer-to-peer rentals, and taking advantage of the ecological trend, we expressed the desire to offer an alternative based on authentic sharing rather than market economics.
Our goal is to promote real sharing where saving money is not about profit-seeking and where sharing is much more than renting.
