Some circles want booking the car to cost something in itself: the slot ties the vehicle up for everyone, even when the trip turns out to be short. The per-booking flat fee adds a fixed amount, set by you, to every booking.
Per-booking flat fee
A fixed amount, charged once per booking, independent of distance and duration.
What makes it different
Every other cost in Co-oto is born from measured use: kilometers driven, hours held, fuel bought. The flat fee is born from a commitment made on a slot, which is why it is the only cost that can be due without a trip ever taking place.
It takes no prorata, no daily cap and no duration package. It is added once, as it is.
Setting it up
- Open the vehicle, then Costs.
- Choose Per-booking fee.
- Enter the amount, in the currency of the circle. An amount of 0 switches the fee off.
The fee is set per vehicle: two cars in the same circle can carry different fees, or only one of them can carry a fee at all.
The amount is frozen when the booking is created
The fee is written onto the booking the moment it is created, and is never recalculated afterwards. If you raise your rate later, bookings that already exist keep the amount the driver agreed to.
A trip started without a booking has no fee to freeze: it simply falls back to the vehicle’s current rate when it is closed.
When the fee is not due
- The booking is cancelled. Cancelling cancels the fee — there is no no-show charge.
- The request was refused by the owner.
- The request is still pending, in a circle that requires validation.
A recurring series charges as many fees as it creates bookings. The total is shown to you before you confirm the series.
Where it shows up
- On the booking itself, and in the estimate shown before you book.
- In the balance, on a line of its own.
- In the logbook, next to trips — including bookings that were never driven.
- In the statistics, as a "booking fees" tile.
- In the Excel exports, with its own column.
Which plans include it
The per-booking fee is part of the paid features, and it is open to free circles during their 21-day discovery period. See the plans that include it.
