Why cap billed hours?

When a vehicle has an hourly rate, every hour of use is billed by default. Keeping the vehicle for a whole day would then count as 24 hours, even though it mostly sat parked overnight.

The daily cap lets you recognise that nobody really drives around the clock. You set a maximum number of hours billed per day, and each day where use exceeds that number is brought back down to the cap.

Set it up

1. Open the vehicle, then go to its pricing settings
2. Find the field Max billed hours per day
3. Enter a number between 1 and 23, for example 18
4. Save the vehicle settings

How it works

The cap is calculated day by day, over each 24 hour period the trip spans. For each day, the app counts the hours actually used, then brings them down to the cap if they exceed it. The booking mode, whole day or specific times, makes no difference: only the effective duration on each day counts.

The cap applies both to the hourly rate and to the time share of the fixed costs, so the whole time based part of the bill follows the same logic.
