Balance Overview

A screen summarizes all user expenses and facilitates settlement between you.

  • Overview of each user's balance
  • Full transparency on the composition of amounts owed
  • Balance reset after each settlement

Export available: Export your trips and fill-ups to an Excel file for your accounting. See Exports.

Reading the balance

  • Debtors come first. The "By member" list puts whoever owes at the top, then whoever is owed, then those who are up to date, marked with a green tick.
  • Each member has their own period. You reset each driver separately, so the "since …" date is read on their own line, not on the group total. Settling one driver does not shorten anybody else's period.
  • Sharing is a manual gesture. The "Share" button prepares a message addressed to one person, with their amount and their period. Co-oto sends nothing on its own: you pick the channel.
  • The export sits in the header. A spreadsheet icon in the top corner of the screen exports the balance.

At the bottom of the page, the settlement history lists what has already been paid. See payment validation.

Were you keeping this balance in a spreadsheet or in Splitwise? What a dedicated app changes for bookings, cost per kilometre and fixed costs is set out in Co-oto vs Excel + Splitwise/Tricount.
