Vehicle availability

Decide when the vehicle can be booked, and for how long.

What you can set

As the owner, you can shape how the vehicle is shared in two ways: by blocking certain days of the week, and by capping how long a single booking can last. Both are configured per vehicle.

Good to know: Outside the rules you set, the vehicle stays freely bookable through the calendar. You do not need to open availability slot by slot.

Recurring unavailable days

You can block one or more days of the week. A blocked day repeats every week, for example "the vehicle is never available on Tuesdays".

Set it up

  1. Open the vehicle, then tap Set availability
  2. Turn on the day or days you want to restrict
  3. For each day, choose how much of it is blocked
  4. Tap Save

Whole day

The vehicle cannot be booked at all on that day.

Time slot

Only a chosen window is blocked, for example 3 pm to 7 pm. The rest of the day stays open.

Weekly only: Availability rules repeat every week. To block a one-off date range, such as a holiday, there is no dedicated setting yet.

What members see

  • Blocked periods are marked Unavailable in the booking calendar
  • A booking that overlaps a blocked period is refused, with the message that the vehicle is unavailable for that period
  • Color pills on bookings and trips show at a glance whether the vehicle is free or in use

Maximum booking duration

On the same screen, you can limit how long a single booking may last. This keeps the vehicle from being tied up too long by one person.

Set it up

  1. On the availability screen, turn on Enable maximum duration
  2. Enter a number of days and additional hours
  3. Tap Save

Example: Set 2 days and 4 hours. A driver can then book the vehicle for up to 52 hours in a row. A longer booking is refused, with a message asking to shorten it.

Tip: Leave the limit off if your circle is small and trusting. Turn it on when several people rely on the same vehicle.

Force availability

If a driver forgets to end a trip, the vehicle can stay marked as in use. The owner can force availability to free it again. This removes the active trip that is blocking access, so use it only when needed.

Taking a vehicle out of service

A car at the garage is neither deleted nor hidden: it is taken out of service. The owner flips a switch on this screen, and the car stays where it was everywhere in the app, greyed out, accepting neither bookings nor the start of a trip.

Below the switch sit two fields: a reason, in free text, which is the only thing that tells the drivers why the car is off the road; and an optional expected return date.

  • Without a date, no booking is possible at all: the repair is of unknown length.
  • With a date, bookings whose departure falls after it become possible again — the last day of unavailability included.
  • Starting a trip stays blocked until you flip the switch back. There is no automatic return to service: you are the one who reopens the car, once you have seen it is fixed.

Bookings already made stay in the calendar. Wiping them would erase arrangements the members have built their week around; instead the app blocks the departure and offers to cancel.

Putting a car out of service is not something you buy: the switch is open to every plan, the free one included, unlike the recurring availability rules below.

A paid feature

Recurring availability rules and the maximum booking duration are available with a paid subscription, and during the free trial period. See the plans that include recurring availability.
