Engine Types

Petrol and electric vehicles: configure your engine type.

Co-oto supports petrol (petrol, diesel) and electric vehicles. Configure your engine type to automatically adapt cost calculations.

Configure Engine Type

Set the engine type when adding the vehicle or in the settings.

  1. Go to Settings > Vehicles
  2. Select your vehicle
  3. Tap on Engine type
  4. Choose Combustion or Electric
  5. Save

Combustion Vehicles

For petrol or diesel vehicles, configure the following parameters:

Average consumption

Litres per 100 km (e.g. 6.5 L/100km)

Fuel price

Average price per litre (e.g. EUR 1.85/L)

Cost calculation

The cost per kilometre is calculated automatically:

Cost/km = (Consumption ÷ 100) × Fuel price

Example: (6.5 ÷ 100) × 1.85 = EUR 0.12/km

Electric Vehicles

For electric vehicles, Co-oto adapts the cost tracking:

Average consumption

kWh per 100 km (e.g. 15 kWh/100km)

Electricity price

Average price per kWh (e.g. EUR 0.25/kWh)

Charging Tracking

For EVs, you can record your charging sessions:

  1. In the Charging tab, tap +
  2. Enter the number of kWh charged
  3. Enter the cost (optional – useful for public charging stations)
  4. Save

Home charging vs public stations: You can differentiate between free charging (home) and paid charging (public stations) for accurate cost tracking.
