One-time Expenses

Share exceptional expenses fairly between users.

One-time expenses are exceptional costs related to the vehicle that are not part of the monthly fixed costs. They are recorded in the settlement of the person who made them.

What is a one-time expense?

One-time expenses cover all unexpected or occasional costs related to the vehicle.

Repairs
Vehicle inspection (MOT)
Fines
Towing
Tyres
Accessories

Difference with fixed costs: Fixed costs (insurance, leasing) are recurring and calculated pro rata based on usage time. One-time expenses are attributed entirely to the person who made them.

Add a one-time expense

The owner can add a one-time expense at any time.

  1. Go to the Expenses tab
  2. Tap + or Add
  3. Select One-time expense
  4. Choose the category (repair, MOT, etc.)
  5. Enter the amount
  6. Add a description (optional)
  7. Save

New expense

Category: Repair
Amount: EUR 250
Description: Front brakes

Display in Settlement

When a one-time expense is recorded, it appears entirely in the settlement of the person who made it.

Display example

Julie spent EUR 250 (Brake repair)

The full expense is attributed to the person who recorded it. It is then up to the circle members to split the costs among themselves, outside the app.

Optional automatic sharing: by default a one-time expense stays with the person who paid, and members settle up among themselves. The owner can also turn on Share vehicle expenses in Settings: each expense is then split equally among all active members and the balance updates automatically.

View Expenses

All circle members can view one-time expenses in their settlement.

  • Go to the Settlement tab
  • One-time expenses appear separately from trip costs
  • Tap an expense to see details
