Fixed Costs

Configure insurance, leasing, taxes, and other costs.

Fixed costs are regular expenses related to the vehicle, distributed among users based on their usage.

Flat rate amount: this field groups variable or miscellaneous costs (minor servicing, tolls, accessories) under a single annual amount. Like the other fixed costs, it is distributed in proportion to time of usage. Not to be confused with the monthly flat fee described below, which is split in equal shares.

Note: all fixed costs are entered as annual amounts. Drivers can view them but cannot modify them.

Configuring Fixed Costs

  1. Go to Settings > Vehicles
  2. Select the vehicle
  3. Tap Fixed Costs
  4. Tap Add a Cost
  5. Select the type and enter the amount
  6. Save

Cost Distribution

Costs are distributed differently depending on their type:

Depreciation

Split 50% by distance and 50% by time of usage.

Other Fixed Costs

Leasing, insurance, parking, taxes. Distributed based on time of usage.

Example

Situation:

  • Julie: 10 days of usage, 300 km driven
  • Thomas: 5 days of usage, 200 km driven

Result for Julie:

  • Depreciation: 90 EUR (half by distance, half by time)
  • Leasing + Insurance: 133 EUR (in proportion to her time of usage)

Option: the monthly flat fee

Some costs depend neither on kilometers nor on hours: a dedicated parking space, a roadside-assistance subscription, an agreed contribution. For these cases, the owner can set a monthly flat fee per vehicle, independent of usage.

Unlike the usual fixed costs (spread in proportion to usage), the monthly flat fee is split in equal shares between all active members of the circle, the owner included, prorated by the time elapsed since each member's last reset. With two members, it is a straight 50/50 split.

Example: a 120 EUR monthly fee in a circle of three members comes to 40 EUR each per month. A member who joins mid-month carries only half of it. The fee is never retroactive: it starts counting the day the owner turns it on.
